VIDEO: 12-minute total body flow for beginners

Sometimes you don’t have much time, but still want to squeeze some yoga into your day… THIS video is for all those days! It’s been created with a beginner in mind, but is suitable for all levels.

It’s the first video I shot in the beautiful yoga studio at the Wellness Centre in Castle Quay, Jersey. If you don’t know it, you should definitely check it out! It’s such a beautiful space – very serene, calm and luxurious. It has also has the only floatation tank in the Channel Islands! I can’t recommend a float enough – it’s the ultimate way to release built-up tension and stress. You feel like you’ve been on holiday at the end of a session!

VIDEO: Alternate nostril breathing (Anuloma Viloma)

If you have five minutes to spare, I highly recommend investing your time in learning this ‘pranayama’ or breathing exercise. This is something you can do anytime you feel stressed, or anxious or a little bit nervous – you will immediately feel calmer and more centered.

I actually used to do a few rounds of this before I went on air when I was working as an anchor at France 24! I could really feel a difference when I didn’t have time to do this. It has a real centering effect and is one the BEST tools in your tool box (both on and off the mat)!

This would be really good to practice before a flow – why not try this flow to unwind and de-stress or this beginner’s flow

Any questions, please feel free to drop me a line. Also let me know what you would like to see in my upcoming videos.

VIDEO: Yoga to de-stress and unwind

My yoga video offering of the week… a flow to help you unwind and de-stress! I started working again full-time last week and I found myself craving some deep hip stretches when I got home. These are my go-to poses for tight hips after sitting at a desk most of the day – hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

If you have the time, try to add in a few minutes of ‘legs up the wall’ (or ‘viparita karani’ for you sanskrit lovers!) at the end of this flow.  It’s one of my favourite poses to completely release and let go of any stress – I’ll make a video of it soon to demo it!

VIDEO: Ultimate yoga flow for the core

My video offering of the week… a 12-minute yoga core flow! I’ve been focusing a lot on building core strength these past few weeks – and my arm balances are much more stable as a result.

It’s so rewarding to see progress in your yoga practice and this is definitely one area where a bit of effort goes a long way. Working on your core helps improve with nearly everything – your balance, posture and stability, just to name a few!

Check out this short and sweet flow to try some my favourite moves. And do let me know what you think – I’d love to hear from you!

VIDEO: 10-minute guided meditation to cleanse & recharge

Happy Friday! I’ve just posted a 10-minute guided meditation for you. This is one of absolute favourite meditations to do anytime I feel a bit stressed, anxious or just a bit blah.

This always leaves me feeling completely recharged and cleansed from the inside out! Once you learn the technique, you can do this in just a minutes to feel instantly better.

Best of all, you can do this anywhere, either sitting or standing (try it in the shower too!). So if you ever see me on a crowded tube looking serene, chances are, I’m doing this meditation 🙂

VIDEO: 17-minute vinyasa yoga flow for beginners

Happy weekend! I’ve just posted a short Vinyasa Flow video for beginners on my YouTube channel – this is a great place to start if you’re new to yoga or trying to establish a home practice. Just 15 minutes a day can make a huge difference to your day and ultimately your life! Give it a go and let me know how you feel afterwards 🙂
