Pop-up yoga classes in September

I’m thrilled to announce that our pop-up classes at Castle Quay will continue throughout September! There’s something so special about practicing outside – feeling the earth beneath you and the sky above you. It makes you feel really connected and grounded. If you haven’t experienced it yet, this is your chance!

Grab your yoga mats, your friends and join me after work to stretch, strengthen and relax every Thursday in September from 6-7pm.

Dates: September 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
When: 6.00-7.00pm
Where: Marina Gardens, Castle Quay (lawn above the underground car park)
Cost: £5
Bring: Yoga mat, water & layers

Any questions, please feel free to drop me line.

Let’s make the most out of the last few weeks of summer. Can’t wait to see you there!

Blindfolded yoga class

For me, yoga is a way of connecting with our deeper selves – of accessing that more evolved, higher version of ourselves.

Practicing blindfolded brings a whole new dimension to this – it’s a really unique and enriching experience.

A world of sensation opens up – everything we feel, hear and touch becomes heightened.

It allows your body’s intelligence to guide you, enabling how you feel in a pose to guide your practice. It brings fresh insights and makes us realise that indeed all the answers that we seek lie within.

On Saturday, 10th September, I will be holding a blind-folded yoga and meditation class at the Wellness Centre (Castle Quay) from 2.00-4.30pm.

We will move slower than usual, practicing mindfully and holding poses longer. The sequence will be simple and easy to follow. We will finish with a guided meditation focusing on the third eye and developing your ‘inner sight’.

The class is suitable for all levels, including beginners.

I led my first blindfolded yoga class on a retreat last year and was amazed at the response that I had from the class. One of my students burst into tears at the end of it, expressing how grateful she felt that she could see again. Everyone I spoke to said it was an enriching and unique experience.

So now it’s your chance to come and experience this yoga like no other! If you are not comfortable being blindfolded, you can still attend and keep your eyes closed.

The early bird rate of £20 is valid until 1st September – after that, the class will cost £25.

Please contact me if you would like to attend and bring a blindfold!

Tell your friends, grab your mats and join me after work to stretch, strength and relax…ahhhhh….

Dates:  August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
When:  6.00-7.00pm
Where: Marina Gardens (lawn above the underground car park)
Cost: £5
Bring: Yoga mat, water & your friends

Even better, the 18th August will be a full moon, so we’ll be practicing a full moon flow outside on the lawn!

VIDEO: Lazy bed yoga

This is my kind of yoga after a long day or a long trip… yoga in bed, in your pyjamas! This stretchy flow is designed to relax your body, calm your mind and prepare you for a restful sleep. ENJOY

This is the third and final part of my ‘Yoga on the Road’ series. In case you missed them, you can still watch Part 1 and Part 2.

Ultimate Smoothie Bowl

45c3d6_4fa15b39e317488dacca5a67ef601b91-mv2Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen and whipped up the most delicious smoothie bowl ever – just thought I’d share the recipe to brighten up your Monday morning.

If you don’t have time to make it in the morning, make it tonight for dessert – it’s that good! Just make sure to throw some bananas in the freezer (even better if you have time to peel and cut them up first and pop them into a freezer bag).

If you make it, let me know what you think… Enjoy!

VIDEO: Pre-travel yoga routine

This is the first of a three part ‘Yoga on the Road series’… it features a guest appearance, photobomb and blooper from a very persistent yogini…!

This sequence is designed to do before taking a trip that involves sitting for an extended period of time. I take you through a sequence to release tension in your hips, hamstrings, shoulders and neck – all places we tend to store tension when sitting. It takes just 15 minutes, and your body will thank you for it when you find yourself sitting on a plane or car for hours!

Make sure to Part 2 – Yoga poses in tights spaces (yoga while you’re sitting in a car or plane!).
